The old Ospho does not turn the metal black..... I bought new and it definitely does...

Interesting, I've just used some Ospho that is about 6 years old, maybe 7
and it did its job. Guess the shelf life is between 6 & 9 years.

Rudy, I did some reading up on the topic.... I read that it should be stable for years if stored at room temperature.. but storing in elevated temperatures can be a problem.. mine was stored in a relatively warm location...

We store our Ospho in the galley where temps are governed by whatever
Mother Nature provides, except in winter when we run a heater. Summer,
though, can be in the 90's. where the Ospho is stored. Maybe others will
share their success with different time frames.
