Sounds like this group is just getting started again, so I'll keep my expectations on responses to this pretty low, but here's my question:

For those of you who are in-house, what is the structure of your legal department in terms of tiers of attorneys (for example, we have Assistant City Attorney I and II, Senior Attorney, Senior Attorney-Section Chief, Deputy City Attorney, and City Attorney)?  If you have middle tiers, what is the approximate time frame on achieving those tiers?  And does each tier have different duties from the tiers below, or is it more of a recognition of your tenure and the complexity of your work?

And by the way, it looks like you have to "Reply All" in order to reply to the group.  A simple "Reply" will only reply to the person sending the email (or at least that's how it worked for me).

Our structure is such that a starting position is Deputy I, then Deputy II, Assistant I, and Assistant II is the highest position before City Attorney.  We do have a Senior Assistant II position that is basically the number 2 position.

Thanks,
