A wonderful day weatherwise at the Park, and while the birding is a bit slow, a few interesting birds have been reported. The warbler count for today is about 15 species.At the Tip a few RUDDY TURNSTONES were seen first thing, and two RED-THROATED LOONS flew past. A PROTHONOTARY WARBLER flew off a few times. An adult breeding plumage BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was seen sitting at the tip.

Woodland Nature Trail is host to about 7 PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS. A WILSON’S WARBLER was also seen.

Farther north in Tilden Woods reports came in about BLUE-WINGED and GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLERS. Also noted was a CERULEAN WARBLER, and a WILSON’S WARBLER was found on the seasonal trail. Also seen in those woods was an RUSTY BLACKBIRD. Along Shuster Trail, a really cooperative NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH put on a great show at close range.

A CONNECTICUT WARBLER was noted singing in Sleepy Hollow.

A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was seen at the Marsh Boardwalk near the Parking Lot.

A SNOWY EGRET has been posted for Hillman Marsh Shorebird Habitat.
