Hi Chris, Susan, Nate, Jesse, Recently, Chris asked me to introduce him to colleagues at other institutions working with CollectionSpace and doing the same type of work that he is doing at SMK. Also, he wanted to know how to get in touch with the Development Team with implementation questions. So, I thought I'd answer his questions via this email. I would like to take this opportunity to do 2 things: 1. Introduce you to each other and 2. Ask you to sign up for and to use the Talk List for questions/ discussions about your implementations Introductions Jesse Martinez, Museum of the Moving Image (www.movingimage.us) Chris Pott, Statens Museum for Kunst (www.smk.dk) Nate Solas, Walker Art Center (www.walkerart.org) Susan Stone, Informatics Group, Data Services, University of California Berkeley, working with Phoebe A Hearst Museum of Anthropology (http://hearstmuseum.berkeley.edu/index.php) You are all seasoned professionals :-) tasked with these types of activities: setting up the CollectionSpace technical environment locally installing CollectionSpace locally moving data out of existing systems moving data into CollectionSpace setting up user profiles/roles/permissions creating vocabulary lists changing field labels in the UI hiding fields in the UI and many other activities related to making sure that the CollectionSpace implementation at your institution runs efficiently, is secure, and works properly Please Use the Talk List for Implementation-Specific Questions We would like to ask you to use the TALK list for two primary purposes: 1. As the place where you, who are directly involved with installing and implementing CollectionSpace (back-end, front-end), come together to ask questions, share ideas, express concerns/frustrations, and learn from each other. 2. As the means through which the development team can be an active participant in your implementation - when you need us to be. We look to you to ask the questions, and whomever is the best person to respond will do so; this way, we can learn from your experience and improve CollectionSpace based on realtime use of it.
