Centerstage is delighted to be able to welcome back some of our area’s most
beloved actors. Audiences will be happy to see Jacob Tice, Timothy Duval,
Katrina Burns, and Ted Gentry return to the Knutzen Family Theater. Some of
our patrons will also recognize local DuWayne Andrews Jr., who is returning
to another Centerstage production after 7 years. Local talent Anthony Lopez
and Andrew Fry make their Centerstage debuts in this production.
Centerstage is also proud to be a theater which welcomes and showcases
artists who move to our area from other towns and even states. Recent
transplants to Washington Colin Stephens, Rachel Ruby Squires, and Sarah
Olive-McStay round out the cast of “Within the Law”.
The show is directed by Kendall Krebsbach, who recently moved from Seattle
and holds a BA in Theatre from Louisiana State University.
Grace Heller, who has previously worked at Seattle Shakespeare Company,
stage manages.
ABOUT THE SHOW: A staged reading, Within the Law is based on the 1913 play
by Bayard Veiller and is being given a fresh adaptation by actor and
playwright Joshua Jèrard, with additional edits by Trista Duval. Listen
well, as a young shop girl does her job well, believing in kindness and
integrity – until one day she is framed and arrested for theft. Sentenced
to prison on the insistence of her politically influential boss, she vows
to repay the men and the system who have ruined her life.
ABOUT OUR THEATRE: Believing the theatre is an agent of challenge, change,
and education, Centerstage presents and produces quality performances to
enhance the lives of people and communities in Western
Washington. Centerstage Theatre has been a feature of the South Sound Arts
Community since 1977. Performing at the Knutzen Family Theatre since 1998,
Federal Way’s professional theatre company’s actors, designers, and
productions have garnered awards from local publications and papers. For
