Don't ruin your expense battery powered equipment like I have by leaving
batteries in unused devices. Ruined one of those expensive high
beam flashlights and a Garmin handheld GPS that way.

Lithium AA or AAA batteries don't do that.

That’s why i only use Duracell. Every leakage incident I’ve ever experienced has always been with batteries other than Duracell. Still, best practice
Is to remove them during storage. The Duracell option is insurance for when you forget.

Steve:
I am not questioning your experience with Duracell, but I have had just
the opposite experience. For a long time I bought all my small batteries
from Costco and always Duracell. I have had Duracell replace a portable
short wave radio. I have even had them leak while still in the package
and with years left on the expiration date. I switched to Energizers
about 18 months ago and have also started using Lithium AA and AAA
batteries in more expensive stuff. No Energizer failures yet but there
is still time.

Ditto. Never a leak with energizer. Duracell numerous... although they’ve always replaced damaged equipment... small stuff though, nothing big.

I just removed two exploded coppertops today from a remote control for a tape player.

I'm not sure what a tape player is, but I've got a tape dispenser, manual
at that! Maybe they're similar?
