Fwd: NRFL Seattle Regional Combine UPDATE

Quin's

I'm not sure if this went out to the Rhino or not. See below for info regarding an NRFL combine. It seems legit, but I encourage you to research it for yourself.

If you're interested, I suggest you discuss it with Angus and proceed from there. I'm sure we have at least a few players that are sufficiently talented to warrant serious consideration at this combine.

If I were younger (cough, and talented) I'd be curious to check this out. I'll leave this adventure to you, my brothers. It would be really cool to have some Quins play in a professional rugby league. Good luck!

Cheers,

Casey

Subject: NRFL Seattle Regional Combine UPDATE

Rugby Club,
With 23 days until the Seattle Regional Combine (Seattle University, October 15-16), we are making final preparations for our first regional combine of the year. I would like to send out one more reminder to clubs to remind you that our registration closes for Seattle on October 2nd, next Friday. Your players that are interested in working out can register here: www.thenrfl.com/combines

The purpose of our NRFL Regional Combine schedule is to target rugby “hotbeds” around the country, and to bring the combine to you, rather than the other way around. We are looking for the best rugby talent in the country to develop into professional athletes, and I know that some of that talent may reside on your club rosters. We still have spots remaining at the Seattle Regional Combine, and are hoping that your players can find a way to attend. Upon registering, I will send your players their workout schedule and our team hotel information.

The National Rugby Football League (NRFL) is the first professional rugby league in the United States, slated to begin league play in 2017. League play will begin with six teams, each consisting of 45-man rosters. We are looking for athletes across the country to develop into professional rugby players to make up the 270 roster spots for this league. Upon the start of the league in 2017 (April-July), player salaries will average $100,000/year.

I look forward to seeing your players at one of our upcoming combines.

Gents,

I've been following this for a while and right about now it looks like
empty stock.

I have sent an email to the NRFL asking for details on the player
development pathway etc.

I shall come back to you if I get any information of value to the players.

If the NRFL  is not registered  with USA rugby, then there is simply no
reason to be involved.....just see the game that could have been with the
roughrighers v Leicester tigers....could have happened  but politics got in
the way...
