Re: [PUP] Idlewild: Arrival in Vancouver

I raised the thought originally and then realized this was an accomplishment of a Canadian citizen, so perhaps someone from Canada might want to take the lead.  Considering the nature of the accomplishment, local press and media would have an interest in this story.  I thought it would be much easier to coordinate communication if it was done by someone in Vancouver or Victoria.  There was a single Canadian representative that stepped forward and said he might be willing to coordinate something, so now is the time to kick this into high gear.  If you would like to get involved with this effort, please contact Scott at scottebulger@comcast.net.

Personally I'd love to be part of a flotilla that greeted them, perhaps off the entrance to Victoria?  Given the nature of the Straight of Juan DeFuca, having the reception be hosted in Victoria would provide good shelter if the weather isn't great.  Again, all that's required is an estimate of his return date, an email account to send information to/from (PUP?) and someone willing to put some time and energy into the effort.

Thanks!  Scott

A while back, there was some talk about organizing a welcome home for
Ben Gray and his crew when Idlewild arrives in Vancouver in August.
Did anything come of that?

I ask as I may be able to get out west around then.
