Hello All,
My name is John and my wife's name is Gayle. Our boat has been under construction in the WHL Shipyard (alongside the garage) for just over two years since lofting, and substantial completion is promised in just about one year. She's a custom design Ocean-Going Motorboat 46' x 15' 6" x 5' and displaces 60,000lbs. (God willing).
We haven't had the opportunity for any passagemaking yet, having only started into saltwater boating in the last five years since the kids left and moving to the Seattle area. But we have gotten quite a bit of experience running our 24' welded aluminum sportfisher (built at the same shipyard) in Puget Sound and the San Juans. In '01 my 22 yr. old son and I ran the boat from Bainbridge Island (Seattle) to Ketchikan, around the Behm Canal loop and back. That was quite an adventure for both of us.
We haven't made any specific future passagemaking plans as of yet, but when the boat is finished we'll unload the house and go. We plan on initially cruising in AK and when we've seen enough we'll head south. The boat will carry 1300 gals. of fuel and the PerkiPillar 3056 will have the capacity to cross most oceans.
Thanks to all who participate on this and the T&T list
John and Gayle Crowley
