Can someone shed some light on the difference between the
cspace-deployment and collectionspace organisations on GitHub?
I can see that the CollectionSpace services repository's v4.0 tag is 352
commits ahead on the cspace-deployment organisation than the
collectionspace
organisationhttps://github.com/cspace-deployment/services/compare/collectionspace:v4.0...v4.0,
is their any particular reason for this - and should one install from the
services repository of cspace-deployment instead of collectionspace as the
guide on installinghttp://wiki.collectionspace.org/display/DOC/Installing+4.0+on+Aptitude+Compatible+Linux+Distributionssuggests?
Kind regards

Kræn ,
The "/cspace-deployment/" GitHub organization is the home for UC
Berkeley's deployments of CollectionSpace. I just updated the GitHub
profile to make that more clear. Sorry for the confusion.
The "collectionspace" GitHub organization is the correct one to use.
Any references to the "/cspace-deployment/" in the installation and
deployment documentation is a mistake.
Thanks,
Richard

Thanks for raising this question. (And thanks to my colleague, Richard,
for making the purpose of the cspace-deployment repository clearer.)
Could you point out where you found that reference in the installation
guide? I didn't readily see where that was mentioned. I will gladly
correct the documentation, if needed.
Also, if you're in the process of installing CollectionSpace, be sure to
first try out the automated installer - before considering doing a manual
installation:

Hi again,
The guides doesn't seem to mention this GitHub
repositoryhttps://www.google.dk/webhp#q=github.com%2Fcspace-deployment+site:wiki.collectionspace.org,
I was just wondering why one had v4.0 repositories which were 352 commits
ahead - I might be that the collectionspace GitHub repositories had been
abandoned.
Thanks for the quick answer and for the update Richard.
Kind regards
Kræn

Hi Kræn,
Thank you very much, once again, for noting the potential for confusion
between these two, generically-named repositories. Truly appreciated!
