With the Erie Canal being closed until next weekend, and I'm stuck on the
west half, so I'm killing time here.  Gonna stop at Lockport and see what
they did to refurbish the flight of 5 old locks there.

Then maybe Niagara River to Buffalo Harbor.  Has anyone been there before?
Where's the best place to overnight?

Fred, Lockport has room for two large boats on the outside of the upper wall with power & water.
Tonawandas  of course lot's of wall space with power($12 per day or less nothing without power) easy walk to stores and carousel museum, Buffalo inner harbor dock with power.  Easy to get a rental car from enterprise in Tonawanda to do the tourist stuff e.g. , Niagara, Frank L. Wright Master piece The Darwin Martin Complex family compound, Our Lady of Victory Basilica in South Buffalo, and other cool stuff ... enjoy the lemonade you make from lemons!
