Metro Parks is teaming up with Girl Scouts of Western Washington
<file://localhost/who-we-are/girl-scouts-news/Pages/Girl-Scout-Night-at-Poin
t-Defiance-Zoo-is-Dec.-13!.aspx> again this year on the holiday lights
recycling program. Working together to keep thousands of strings of lights
out of the landfill.

The program was sparked by an idea from a 10-year-old girl, Jessica Lam, who
approached Zoo staff three years ago with an idea to keep thousands of
strings of holiday lights out of the landfill and raise money for the Zoo's
conservation fund.

Jessica and the Zoo hope families will bring their old holiday lights to the
zoo when they come to Zoolights instead of throwing them in the trash.

TIPS FOR RECYCLING LIGHTS
