Glacier Bay already has a 33/34 footer, with an excellent cabin design--and the boat rides well also. I have been aboard one. HOWEVER--the dealer had to get special permits to move the boat on the local streets from the ramp to the dealer ship and visa versa-including some road closures and police escorts. This pretty much rules anything over about 28 feet as a practical trailerable boat. (Yes I know you can get permits to trailer up to 10 feet with relitative ease, but when going interstate it gets more difficult. My search is limited to the legal 8'6" beam without permits--and something that you can sleep in en route. Both the Tom Cat and Glacier Bay require a one ton truck for realistic trailering. Size wise beyond that you are looking at something larger (Both of the 255 and 2690 are very close to 10,000 lbs when rigged and on a trailer.
Another issue not totally resolved in the Tom Cat is launching with out backing the truck into the water (risk of water in the differential--or use of a trailer extension)---This is a a ramp I frequently use, when the Tom Cat has had a significant problem with launch.--don't get me wrong, I may well end up with the Tom Cat. More about size of seas and 25 foot boats when I return "home" tomarrow.

You're right, Bob. GB does have a 33 footer. My wife and I crawled over
that beauty at the Portland boat show. Afterwards, the sales guy showed us
plans for their newest boat. I mistakenly thought it was another 33 footer
but I now remember that its in the 28 foot range. I don't if it's
trailerable. The cabin layout was nice and the salesman stated it would
include the new Volvo outdrive. Might be worth looking into.
