I’m looking for two experienced figure drawing models who are interested in subverting their role as object and becoming a subject by discussing their relationship to their body while posing. In the past 16 years, teaching art for social change and healing at UW Tacoma, we have helped students learn some of the traditions of figure drawing while transforming their relationships to their bodies. We have had many types of models, including queer burlesque performers, trans models, people recovering from eating disorders, life-long dieters, and people who have found the art of posing part of their liberation and healing.
If you have some experience posing, I’d love to get an email from you and we can talk about whether you’re the right fit for this gig. We pay well by the hour, but it’s only 4-8 hours of work on M/W afternoons (1:30-3:30 pm) in late January. This will be my last quarter teaching this course at UW Tacoma, so I’d love to get some great models.
Thanks for your interest.
