Fire Marshal and Building Inspector Contracts

All,

My City is interested in contracting with third parties for fire marshal services and building inspector services.  I believe we've found qualified individuals for both these roles, but now I need to draft contracts for them.

Have any of your municipalities contracted for such services?  If so, are there any pitfalls of which I should be aware?  I feel like this is a situation/topic where I don't know what I don't know.  I'd greatly appreciate any guidance or form contracts you have to make sure I don't miss anything!

Many thanks,

Krystina, I don't see that anyone responded to your question regarding
contracting for fire marshal and building inspection services.

One of my towns is contracting with IBTS, which is one of OML's corporate
partners.  The services are offered ala carte - the municipality chooses
which services it needs when and pays only for those services. The fire
marshal and building inspection services are among those that this town
intends to use.

They signed the contract a couple of months ago and haven't yet called on
IBTS, as far as I know, so I can't speak to the actual experience.  I have
high hopes, though.

Good luck!
