Celebrate Earth Day (early) by giving a little time to Point Defiance Park. Invasive Plant Species Removal Project from 9 AM - Noon on, Sat., April 18th at the Pt. Defiance boathouse parking lot sponsored by the Sierra Club Tatoosh Group - Ivy League. Dress in gardening attire and for weather conditions. Tools and gloves (in you don't have any), beverages, and snacks will be provided. Those under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian or have a liability waiver form signed by a parent or guardian. Pierce Transit Buses #10 and #11 will stop just a block away at the ferry dock. Check Sat. times (and route) at Pierce Transit website. Forms will be available at the sign-in table. Experienced leaders with first aid training will be supervising this event.
