Remarks:
Today at 09:30 we crossed into Canada at 54D42'North and 130D51' West. No
great excitement, we just put up our "Q" flag, and sailed on. It's nice to
be in more familiar territory, but we must say we were quite comfortable
wherever we were. For those unfamiliar, the Q flag is a yellow flag that
you fly when you enter a new country that signifies that you are quarantined
until you go through Customs and Immigration.
Yesterday at 17:45, we crossed 55 degrees, 10 minutes North Latitude, which
was 430 nm ( 790 km) directly west of Grande Prairie. We had come south of
55D10' briefly at False Pass in western Alaska, but then angled north to
Kodiak and Glacier Bay. We've crossed it now for good.
Beautiful area again last night. 4-whales appear to live there, in Morse
Cove, but catchable fish don't.
We could feel the nice sea swells from Dixon Entrance as we crossed to
Prince Rupert.
