Last year I started a new ensemble -* Brass Band Tacoma*. This is a British style brass band, and a new music opportunity for our community. The band is made up of 30 of the best brass and percussionists in the South Sound region. Last March we gave a stunning performance at the NW Brass Band Festival, and were also extended an invitation to play at the U.S. Open Brass Band competition. We have had just three public performances, but the momentum and musicianship are strong! I wanted to extend an invitation to our concert this Sunday (10/27). It is a thrill to conduct such a capable group, and share brass band culture with our community.
