John and  Judy Gill of the Two J’s V are pleased to announce a new section
to their  popular Great Loop website for:  POWER POINT PRESENTATIONS.
Actually the website presentations are in a “MOVIE” format, so that viewers /
presenters do not need to have Power Point software to view and/or run these
presentations.

The first presentation titled:  “LOCKING THROUGH”  is a 60 slide lesson
which covers the equipment needed and all the procedures  to safely lock
through from one body of water which is at a higher or lower  elevation than the
other.  Note:  All but one of the locks shown are  on one of the several
America’s Great Loop Cruise routes.  However, 3 are  of the Soo Locks at Sault
St. Marie, MI & Ontario, Canada (between Lake  Huron and Lake Superior).
This “lesson” has won 3 USPS District 5 and 2  National Awards for “
Excellence As An Electronic Teaching Aid”.

The  second presentation titled:  “A CRUISE IN THE PAST LANE” is a 94
slide  presentation about a weeks bare-boat charter cruise on the Erie Canal
aboard  an “Erie Canal barge boat”.  The portion of the Canal cruised was the
middle section, East and West of Rochester and to Seneca Falls and into
Lake  Seneca.

Log onto our website address below and scroll down to the POWER  POINT
PRESENTATIONS section (under the ARTICLES section).  Complete  instructions and
links to various Plug Ins and download help with a link to  the “Free”
QUICK TIME Player Downloader are included in the “Download  Instructions” page
for both Windows and MacIntosh users.

Each  presentation is in two parts:  (1)  The first part is a Narration
Script which should be downloaded and printed, prior to full screen viewing
and/or for presentation purposes.  (2)  The second part is the full  screen /
presentation version.

For both presentations, there is also a  small “preview section” which can
be viewed to determine whether or not you  wish to download the Full Screen
/ presentation version (click on the small  forward arrow > at the bottom
left of the first slide to start the “web  version - self running”).  This
version can not be downloaded.

If  anyone has any difficulty downloading or viewing these presentations
due to  differences in computer technology, please send us an eMail at the
address  below.
