Subject: consider submitting a thematic session for the 2014 ASA-- due November 14th
- Sheila, can you forward this to the section listserv (I think only chairs can).
Dear section member,
I am writing in hopes that you will consider submitting a thematic panel proposal for the 2014 American Sociological Association meetings.
I am the chair-elect of the Communication and Information Technologies section of the ASA, which means I am responsible for planning CITASA sessions for the 2014 ASA Annual Meetings, to be held in San Francisco. In that capacity, I am interested in increasing the number of panels showcasing CITASA-relevant work. One of the ways to accomplish that is to ask folks to submit their own thematic session proposals that would be compatible with both the meeting theme and ICT-related concerns. CITASA cannot submit thematic sessions; thematic sessions may only be submitted by individual ASA members. Hence, my email to you as a section member.
If you have an idea for a session that fits with the meeting them (learn more about the meeting theme at http://www.asanet.org/am2014/am2014.cfm ), you can submit a thematic session. Guidelines for submitting thematic sessions for the 2014 meetings can be found at: http://www.asanet.org/meetings/member_suggestions.cfm
The deadline for thematic submissions is November 13, 2012! So, if you are interested, don't procrastinate.
If you would be willing to put together a thematic panel proposal, it would be wonderful service to the field and to CITASA.
Thanks for considering this,
Jenn
