Our final speaker in the "Humans and Other Animals" seminar series, is Dr.
Cheryl Meehan or the AWARE institute http://www.aware.institute/. She
will be talking about her research on zoo elephant welfare.
Dr. Meehan's work is ground-breaking in that she was able to coordinate
amongst 72 zoos to collect welfare data on nearly 300 elephants, in order
answer questions about zoo animal welfare that can typically only be
guessed at.
Her talk is entitled, “Using Science to Understand Zoo Animal Welfare.”
