We have the Verizon Air Card which Henry mentioned, and use it both at home and on the boat. Seem to have access almost everywhere we are - it works everywhere a Verizon cell phone will work. We tried the slow (14.4 kbps) cell phone connection and found it handled email reasonably well, but that it was almost worthless for any web searching. One thing to remember with regard to the monthly cost of $59.99 for the aircard, you don't need a separate ISP. We essentially paid for ours by dropping the monthly Earthlink charge and also dropped a local land phone line.
