Hi Chuck: The short answer is yes providing you are not on set schedule. If
you study the pilot charts and local forecasting and assuming each port is no
further away than 2 days you can wait for the right winds and sea state. If
you  are on a schedule than the answer is no as the KK42 and any displacement
trawler  will roll and your comfort but not necessarily safety will suffer. If
you  proceed out of the islands to South America than you should have
stabilization.  If you opt for a system like Niads then be sure you carry spare pumps
as that  appears to be the weak link (refer to NAR 2004). If you opt for
mechanical  paravanes then your boat will have to be modified to accept the
pressure forces  demanded by that system. These notes are brief and you may have
