Official Counter:        Nicole Shangi

Observers:        Bob Hall-Brooks, Hugh Kent, John Hall, Juliette Herdman,
Liz Kent, Noel Herdman, Paul Pratt

Visitors:
Thank you to all our fantastic observers today, Noel, Juliette, Bob, Paul,
and John. Thank you to our visitors today, Councillor Linden Crain, Sam and
Geordie.

Weather:
The weather today was not too cold with a high of 8C. Winds were from the
northwest in the morning and turned to southwest by the afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
It was quite slow today despite the north winds in the morning. We had 12
red tailed hawks, 5 red shoulders, 5 northern harriers, 3 sharpies, 3
Cooper’s hawks and 2 bald eagles.

Non-raptor Observations:
The rain increased the water level across the marsh ever so slightly and it
seemed to bring in a few species that we have been missing for the last
week or so, such as northern shoveler, northern pintail, and green winged
teal. On the lake side there was over 300 red breasted merganser along with
a few common merganser and bufflehead. Around the tower were the usual
sparrows, white throated, song and tree sparrow, and we had a treat of 5
snow bunting flying over the tower!

Predictions:
Tomorrow calls for stronger winds than today from the south and southeast.
Hopefully some migrants continue their way through, including rough legged
hawks and golden eagles.
