I'm just back from a brief visit to the PassageMaker TrawlerFest in Stuart,
FL. About 50 boats on display including a fair number of used boats for sale.
Conspicuously absent this year are PDQ, Endeavour and Manta. The only
powercats in evidence are a couple of South African Leopards, a 37 and a 47, and
the weird, but interesting, Island Pilot DSe hybrid.
It looks as though the current selection of new powercat trawlers has
narrowed considerably - although I gather there will be a PDQ 34 at the Miami show.
Of course, that boat will be a 2-year-old Canadian model, production of new
boats in the USA appears to be somewhat delayed.

PS: I have beached Sno' Dog on several occasions - in Florida & the Bahamas.
But everything Bob Deering said in his post is true. It does make for
great photos though!

As an engineer and sailor, Henry, what's your take on the Island Pilot DSe?
