Listen Live at Lunch Summer Concert Series returns this year with additional support from the Tacoma Arts Commission for free-of-charge performances every Wednesday in July and August noon to 1 pm at First Lutheran church in Tacoma (524 S I St). The opening concert on July 5 will feature two local Brazilian pianists and university faculty members: Ronaldo Rolim and Cassio Vianna. The two musicians will engage in a Jazz/classical conversation taking turns at the instrument with music by Brazilian composers. The season continues with an organ recital by Wyatt Smith (Jul. 12), piano recitals by Jensina Oliver (Jul. 19) and Nicole Kim (Jul. 26), the Ellinor String Quartet (Aug. 2), a flute and percussion concert by Tracy and James Doyle (Aug. 9), a piano recital by Fabio Menchetti (Aug. 16), a chamber music concert of strings, voice, and piano by Maria Sampen, Svend Ronning, Tim Christie, Alistair MacRae, Rowena Hammil, Allison Pohl, Lark Powers and Ricardo de la Torre (Aug. 23), and a closing performance by Trio Guadalevín (Aug. 30).
