Seeking some feedback on how difficult a job it would be to R & R the 12
injectors (then send them to a injector shop for overhaul) on twin Lehman SP
225 Turbo engines. Access is (of course) good on P and OK on S & kneeling
engine room so overhead to top of valve cover is tight-9".. My book says
lifter rack must be removed to take out the injectors, so, re-setting the
valves would need to be included. Are any special tools required? I would
assume one would want a set of proper tubing wrenches and torque wrench-how
are tubeing fittings torqued, since cannot use a socket? What is a good
estimate of difficulty & time, I'm pretty handy, rebuilt several gas
engines, winches, transmissions etc (non-professional). Thanks for any
feedback from someone who has done it. Thanks. Tom Hitchcock.
