Late this morning, my husband (Tom Giddings) & I went to the dyke at Shirley's Bay even though we knew the water was too high to see shorebirds. However, we saw two adult American Coots & two juveniles. Quite a sighting because we don't regularly see coots in Ottawa. My husband took photos with his cell through our scope. They helped confirm our observations.
