BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND...

... to all Gators who plan to get it done again!

This weekend we have some virtual racing going on... with a focus on our
large group of Lady Gators working on the Women's Philadelphia
Triathlon/Duathlon plus... exciting news!... some mountain bike and road
cycling racing... and the road cycling event is right in Royersford this
Saturday afternoon in case anyone wants to check it out (see details
below)!  Besides that, for anyone that wants to do an event from the
comfort of their home, Zwift roles out two new worlds... France and
Paris... and is offering a series of rides on the new courses as part of
it's Virtual Tour de France event... Finish one of the events and you earn
a special Tour de France jersey!

Below is a list of what we are aware of that is currently taking place.  If
you have an event and your name is missing from the list, PLEEEAASE post a
comment and we will add you to the roster below!

This Weekend:

• Friday, July 10 - Sunday, July 12: IRONMAN VR14... IRONMAN's Virtual Race
Series picks back up and will continue for the next 8 weekends!  This
weekend's options include Sprint and Olympic distance duathlons... Anyone
racing?

• Saturday, July 11 - Sunday, July 12: Zwift "L'Etape du Tour Stage Two"
events take place around the clock... If you have a Zwift account and would
like to ride in the new France world, this is your first chance... Plus
finish one of the events taking place regularly throughout the weekend and
you will unlock the special Tour de France jersey!  For more details...

• Saturday, July 11: It's bike racing day!

◦ Escape Granogue Endurance Mountain Bike Race (Wilmington, DE): Chris
Townsley will be participating in this 4+ hour endurance event!

◦ Pickle Juice Road Cycling Race Series (Royersford, PA): Brian Kozera and
Don Schlichtmann will be participating! This "crit" race features the speed
demons of cycling racing at high speeds in short very spectator friendly
laps!  And this event is right in our own backyard taking place at Spring
Ford High School with races starting as early as 9am.  Brian and Don will
participate in a 15 mile event (that's a lot of laps to cheer for them!)
starting at 1:15pm!

Ongoing:

• Women's Philadelphia Virtual Triathlon/Duathlon (through July 26): This
virtual version of club sponsor DelMo Sports ultra popular event began on
July 1... Our first finisher was Kerri Brannen!  Has anyone else completed
their event?  At last count, there were a total of 28 Lady Gators planning
to complete the duathlon or triathlon including...

◦ Triathlon: In addition to Kerri, we have... Heather Williams Bloodworth ,
Amelia Blythe, Jessica Celestin , Sara Dansbury, Karen Dieciedue, Angela
Epelbaum, Susan Flavin, Meg Huang, Lindsay Inger, Cindy Kelecic, Rosemary
Keller, Kristin Kozera, Beth Kramer (and Allison Kramer), Sheri Kuss,
Michelle Louise, Diane Lynch, Jaydan Maree, Stacey Montgomery DeFreitas
(and Faith DeFreitas for the duathlon), Renee Schuck, Carla Setzler, Gina
Stango, Karen Thompson, Logan Washburn, and Allison Wesler!

◦ Duathlon: Deb Rocco, Megan Stone, and Michele Stroba!

• Steelman Racing's Virtual Challenges (through August 31)... This set of
events, offered by club sponsor Steelman Racing includes a "Race the State"
challenge for adults that includes crossing the 350 miles of Pennsylvania
in any self-powered way that you'd like over the course of 1-3 months and
there is also a "Loop the Lake" challenge for children that involves
completing the 20 mile circumference of Lake Nockamixon.  Gators currently
participating in various events continuing through July and August include
Sheri Kuss, Sean Lodge, Diane Lynch, Michael Metry, and Shawn O'Malley!
Additionally Jr. Gator Kenzie Kuss will be participating in the "Loop the
Lake" challenge!

• Great Summer 2020 Virtual Challenge (through Labor Day, September 7):
This event, offered by club sponsor Scoogie Events, features a summer long
challenge to virtually run/jog/walk and/or bike across Pennsylvania (350
miles) or from Doylestown to the Jersey Shore (Cape May; 135 miles)! Sheri
Kuss is in for the "run to the Jersey Shore" challenge!

• The Great Virtual Race Across Tennessee 1000K (through August 31): Ruth
Subach is continuing to work her way across this extra wide state!
