Dear IMLA Police Alternatives Group, Does anyone have a policy that they could share re: how their police/localities deal with non-compliant persons in crisis within their own residences? Specifically, how to handle it when someone in a mental health crisis barricades themselves within their own property, and all other efforts have failed to gain voluntary compliance, so the only two options are thought to be 1) to force entry/use force or 2) walk away.
