Have had lots of interest on this item. Here is some more info:
1. It is in New Bern, NC. 25 miles from the ICW by water, 50 miles
from Morehead and 130 miles from Raleigh by car. I would be willing to
deliver, but not too far and the buyer would need to cover that.
2. I need to mention that I now want to sell the steps, too, for they
have more value with this platform than separate since they are
specifically designed to work together (they swing down into the water). I want to
make new ones from scratch for my new platform. There is a small dent on
one tube.
3. My price for both is $1000, a fraction of the cost of new or even
used at a boatyard/salvage place. It will be easier to install and worth
more to the person that has the right transom curvature, so I measured and
over the ~13' width between a straight line and the (constant radius) arc
there is an ~3" curve at the middle. I can be more precise when I get to the
unit. If you have to mess around too much to make it fit, you might be
better off finding a different one.
4. I would guess it will cost $2-400 to pay a low overhead glass guy
to make this one totally pretty (minor repair, prep, paint). Do it yourself
for $50-100 materials. Rub railing is $50-200.
5. I have older pics that I have sent out to direct email requests and
will get new ones with the unit separated when the rain abates.
Regards, Jim

- Swim platform for sale (JHWardJr@aol.com)
I designed an extension for my 42' Present that has surplused the existing
swim platform. It was designed specifically for my boat (14' beam, slight
radius, ~28" deep) and is made of cored fiberglass with five stainless
steel support brackets. It is not damaged and in fairly decent shape,
but
could use a little TLC to make it shiny and pretty.
Would make a great bar in a house, but not as nice as a refurbished teak
one would. With new legs, it could be a great bench on a big deck (leave
it
outside).
I have it at a consignment shop, but it's still mine and has greater value
to someone that really needs it, not just passing through. It is kinda
heavy (guessing ~150#, two people can carry it), so shipping is not a good
option. A boat trailer makes a good transport.
Will send pics to anyone that has a serious interest. Regards, Jim
