Compressed air diving

This discussion seems to be based upon the premise that having the ability
to dive using compressed air is an absolute necessity (or high priority)
for Scott on his planned voyage.
I think carrying a mask, wet suit, fins & weights is probably sufficient
for most of us.

If he is crossing an ocean in a single screw boat without a backup screw it is critical.
He could easily catch a rope / fishnet and be dead in the water.
This happened to Autum Wind on th NAR.
Do not forget if he has only one lung, his ability to free dive is greatly reduced.
So it is more critical for him then someone with more lung capacity.

If this was me, I would get a crew memeber who can dive.
I  know how hard it is to find crew!
However for my level of safety I would require it.
