Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsCharles,
The quick answer is don't flush overboard.
It seems like the rules for the Champalin are prety clear.
Use a holding tank and remove a portion of the pipeing from it to the
thru-hull for overboard discharge.
We spent the greater parts of 3 summers on the traditional loop segments in
Canada.
One summer we cruised Westward from the Erie canal through the Trent-Severn
to Lake Michigan,
one summer clockwise reversing that route, and a summer on the Rideau.
We had a holding tank with a key lock on the circuit which energized the
overflow pump.
No one asked to see out system. In fact, no one even came aboard.
In preperation for a new toilet, friends of ours installed a separate
holding tank for the forward head on ACT 2, their Albin 43.

How do you cruise the NDZ's of this country and deal with the
daily bodily functions we must deal with, without having your
boat impounded or being fined?
