boat cards

For me it doesn't matter much, they all know where I live anyway.  My boat
sits at the dock by my house, so everybody traveling the Champlain Canal
knows where I live.  But I still agree with Bob McLeran, there's no sense
making it easy for the non-boaters who may have larcenous intent by putting
address info on the cards.

We agree with Bill about not putting your home address on a boat card;
same reason. It's easy enough for someone to get your home address via
the internet with a little work, but at least it takes some extra effort.

We give out boat cards to a lot of people we don't know who simply want
to read our blog, see info about our boat, call us later, need a contact
number (a store, a marina, etc.).

Who knows where your boat card is going to end up?

BTW, same holds true for putting a lot of personal information in your
email signature! No reason to repeat your email address (it's already
there), or to add your cell phone numbers, home addresses, etc.
EVERYTHING on the internet is discoverable, including the content of
everything in your posts to email lists, blogs, and forums!
