I am planning a trip from Sarasota to Key West in the near future.  Cruising
at 7 knots +/-, I am estimating a run from Marco Island to Marathon to be
about 11 +/- hours.  The other boats that I am cruising with are all go-fast
boats and not a trawler like mine.  I don't expect anyone to lag behind at my
speed so will likely be going it alone.  I have a single diesel and am a
little concerned about that run across Florida bay.  All my other cruising has
been along the West coast of Florida in the intracoastal.  Any words of wisdom
out there for me???  Thanks
