As I remember, Bermuda is a bit under 600 nautical miles from Norfolk or
Beaufort, NC., too far for a PDQ 34 (unless you were out to prove something)
plus it's not really a trip I'd want to do in Sno' Dog anyway.  Heck, I'm
having trouble finding calm enough weather to get to the Bahamas right now.
It's not the boat so much, but a matter of keeping the crew happy.  My wife
does not enjoy being tossed around for a 4 or 5 hour open-ocean crossing.

For a powercat rendezvous, I'd think an East Coast venue might work better.
Somewhere between Fernandina Beach and Marathon would work for us.  We,
along with other Northerners, don't get to Florida before mid-November,
however, because of our cheap insurance policies which prevent us from being
south of NC before November 1st (end of hurricane season).  The amount we save
on insurance pays for the fuel to go north each year!

Henry, please jump in here, because I do admire the fuel economy (amongst
other things) of the PDQ, but isn't this distance too far for SnoDog?

Let's nail down a date first, then zone in on a specific location on
the east coast of Florida.

How about November 13-14 or December 4-5?

November 13 - 14 works great for us.
Looking back at our log, we've passed through northern Florida right
around those dates for the past 3 years.

Another suggestion for a gathering place is somewhere up the St. John
River.  Anywhere from the Ortega River (near Jacksonville) on up
(down?) to Palatka might be fun.  It's off the beaten path.  (See: www.snodoglog.com/JAX-Dec06-Pg1.html)
