Annual Meeting Reminder****
A reminder that our 2013 Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, November
14 at 7:00 p.m., in Pearson Hall at Grace Lutheran Church, on the other
side of NE 8th St, opposite Vuecrest. We will present a review of this
year, vote on the proposed budget for next year, as well as elections for
two of the Director positions. Anyone who is interested in serving as a
Director, please contact any of the current Directors at
directors@vuecrest.net <javascript:_e({}, 'cvml',
'directors@vuecrest.net');>.****
**City Council Forums
**
Several forums for candidates for city council were announced recently, two
of which are in locations convenient to Vuecrest residents. The Bellevue
Downtown Association’s forum is Tuesday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the
Bellevue Westin. Our community is also invited to attend the Meydenbauer
Bay Neighborhood Association’s forum on Wednesday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m.
at the Overlake Country Club, which is likely focused on issues around the
expansion of Meydenbauer Beach Park and other shoreline issues. ****
**Summer Picnic Recap
The Annual Summer Picnic was loads of fun, with the weather holding, much
to the delight of the roughly 200 residents who gathered. Highlights
included BBQ sandwiches from Maximus/Minimus, ice cream, bouncy houses for
the kids, and a magician. For those who captured Kodak Moments of the
event we encourage you to share your favorites with the Directors, so we
may include highlights in the next Vuecrest Vue. Additionally, for 2014,
we are seeking feedback as to the timing, whether that be to move the event
to mid-summer or keep close to Labor Day. Thoughts? ****
**And finally, two poor umbrellas were left homeless at the Picnic. Is one
yours? Please let us know if so you may be reunited with your beloved.

**Storm and Surface Water
To prepare for heavy rains and prevent flooding in our neighborhood,
remember to check storm drains near your home and clear away any leaves and
debris. Clogged grates are often the reason a street floods during a storm.
In addition, if you witness any Vuecrest drainage issues after a storm, or
have pictures from the recent heavy rains, we strongly encourage you to
pass along the pictures to any of the Directors at directors@vuecrest.net.
Collectively, these provide valuable visuals and data points with which we
can engage the City of Bellevue in discussions on possible drainage
solutions. Thank you!
Getting Help with Trees and Hedges
The prospect of trimming one’s trees and hedges alone can be overwhelming,
and even figuring out who to hire, much less how much it should cost, can
be a daunting task. The landscaping committee is reaching out to a few
local businesses to see if they would commit to being on-site in Vuecrest
for a one- to two-week period, to perform work on a sign up, and
potentially discounted, basis. If this sounds like something you might be
interested in, please let us know by *October 15 *so we may obtain
estimates.
Vuecrest Monthly Board Meeting
Please join us at the next Board Meeting on Thursday, October 3 [7:00 –
9:00 p.m.] at the home of Peter and Nancy Pitarys, 914 Evergreen Drive.
