Good morning.  I am on watch again.  Things are getting much clearer.
It is 06:46 and the sun is streaming thru the clouds, to starboard.
The wind and seas have come down some, and the ride is getting
better.  Bob had a good watch, with no traffic.  I have not had any
traffic, so far, and there is nothing on the radar for 12 miles.  I
am listen to the coast guard radio.  We are just off of Coos Bay, and
there is a sailing boat crossing the bar and heading north.  The
coast guard is giving them a warning about crossing the bar.  The
sail boat is headed for Astoria, at the Columbia river mouth.  We
already have some company out here.  Last night the trawler, named
Galatea came out of Eureka.  He joined us, heading north for Seattle.
Galatea is 52 foot, trawler type yacht.  If I find out more I will
report.  They are about 18 miles behind us, at last check.

Hal just checked the weather, and it looks good all the way to
Seattle.  Winds at stay behind us and to go down in force over the
next three days.  Our plans are still up in the air, but it looks
like we might stop at Friday harbor, on Friday.  We might stay the
weekend in the islands, and go into Seattle on Monday.  But you know
how we are with plans.  As Hal says they are as firm as Jello.  I
will try to write later in the day, but time flies when you are
having fun.

Another fuel burn rate.

World Odd @ Sea has traveled from Marmaris, Turkey to Mahon Menorca (at this
moment) via Tilos, Crete (Nickolaos & Khania), Malta, Siracusa, Sicily,
Caglairi, Sardinia.  Travel summary:

The boat is a Nordhavn 46 with paravanes, the paravanes were used about 70%
of the time. About 1/3 of the travel was in force 5 to 7 conditions, a
portion near the bow.  The is an generally eastern trip so that seas were
rarely astern. There is very nearly zero tide and not much current in the
Mediterranean.

Distance Run  1,519 Nat. Miles
Time Run  252.9  hours
Average Cruising Speed 6.5 knots
Average Speed 6.0 knots (distance/ hours)
Main Engine Fuel Used 467 Gallons
1.85 gph,  3.3 n.mpg

Generator hours  2.3 - fuel, ~.8 gal.

Purchased 2,000 liters (575 gal.) of fuel in Malta for .24 Malta Lira -
about US$ .73 / liter or 2.54 US$ / US gallon

It has been a great trip so far, we hope the planned remainder to London by
late July goes as well.
