Good morning, all,
A member would like to know if anyone has any information on the possibility of implementing a limit on the number of agenda items a member of the public may sign up to speak on during a council meeting. This member represents a local government that requires members of the public to register with the recorder in advance, and on each agenda item, up to three people may speak for a maximum of five minutes each. Additionally, there is a time limit of five minutes for each speaker during public forum at the end of the meeting, with a maximum time of thirty minutes. Council, of course, may modify that to allow for additional speakers or time.
If you can share information on this, please send it to me at rarneja@imla.orgmailto:rarneja@imla.org and I'll pass it along.
Thank you,
