Good afternoon birders, There was a noticeable increase in birds this morning following the overnight thunderstorms. Although activity was up at the Tip, birds certainly didn't linger at any one spot for very long, with many birds often high up at the top of the trees. Nevertheless, the following species were reported in the Tip area: 18 Willet, 2 Yellow-breasted Chats, Palm Warblers, Marsh and Sedge Wrens, White-eyed Vireo, Eastern Kingbird, Red-headed Woodpecker, multiple Baltimore Orioles and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. Woodland Nature Trail was also very productive, with Hooded Warblers, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Northern Parula and a Prothonotary Warbler being the highlights.
