Fellow Boaters:
Please be calm!

The following is the information you need to Cruise Canadian Canals in 2013

Continue to write letters to government re the proposed 2014 season changes.
This year 2013 fees for locking have not changed. In fact there is a promo offered now to encourage boaters to explore the canal systems.

Seasonal Locking only - $8.80/Ft
Seasonal Overnight Mooring - $9.80/Ft
6-Day Lock Transit Permit (includes 1 free mooring)-$5.05/Ft

Advantages of lock and mooring pass combo:
for example, a 42 ft boat - (17.60x 42 )  cost $739.00.
If you are traveling the Canadian Canals system for 1 month, 30 days, your cost per day including dock, is only $24.64.
Yes you are at the lock wall, power is extra and you will not have the benefits of a marina.....however you will experience quaint little towns, scenery, history, a different country, new people and have a great adventure.

Additional information:
A dinghy may be towed behind the main vessel when underway, however if you want to tow through the lock, a dingy permit (extra $$) is required.
Dinghy passes are purchased at the lock, at the regular per foot rate for a 12 foot boat. ( 12x$8.80=$105.60) If the dingy is attached/hauled on the transom/on davits when you go through the lock, it is part of your boat and a pass is not required.

Lock times on the shoulder season ( May 17-June 20 and Sept 3-Oct 14) have changed to scheduled time, once per day 10.00am. Check online
Lock times for the summer season remain as on demand

Be sure to take advantage of this special.
Welcome to Canada!!
