I generally estimate build costs in China/Turkey at $6-$7 per lb, $11
per lb in the U.S./Canada and $16/lb for a production boat. All as a
very rough rule of thumb.

Bruce and others--

Speaking of keeping costs down, I hear that designer George Buehler
and builder Bill Kimley are developing a 38-foot Diesel Duck that
will have an amazing introductory price of $240,000 or about $5.00 a
pound.

Nothing in sight yet at http://www.dieselducks.com/ or
http://www.seahorseyachts.com/.
