Yes, I enjoyed that story. I traded email with PDQ powercat owner Dave
Mensel and learned there's a second part to his story (covering Chicago to his
hometown, Nashville, TN) but he's holding on to it pending possible publication
in Passagemaker. Incidentally, he's the only PDQ owner I've communicated
with who's got the 100-hp engine option. He cruises at 16 knots, top speed is
18.
There's a PDQ owner's website at:
http://www.hometown.aol.com/leadfree01/sailing.html (http://www.hometown.aol.com/leadfree01/sailing.html) which
documents owners Larry and Sharon Duhaime's exploits aboard their PDQ 34 (hull
#17) "Leadfree Too". They are live-aboard snowbirds who commute between Lk St
Claire and FL/Bahamas every year, currently they're in Georgetown, Exuma.
As you've probably noticed, PDQ has an excellent website. They also host an
owner's list at: www.pdqforum.com
(http://www.mymailout.net/MyMailout/Redirect.aspx?u=4730&q=2869487&lm=1935592&r=4871&qz=f5089e6f9f99e32cb09adefe0a01a370
) which I believe is open to all, I believe. If you scroll down, you'll
find a "PDQ Powercat Forum" (currently has 27 posts). This is a good place to
find out what owners, and would-be owners, are discussing.
