As I am completely emptying the inside of my Rhodes 44 (steel) Motor Sailor
for some replating, blasting, and coating . . . I am considering the
addition of bilge keels to reduce roll and improve sailing performance. I
have an estimate for a professional to properly calculate the size and
placement . . . and I feel the actual addition is easily accomplished
compared to the rest of the work I have to do. Anybody have anything to
input . . . for or against the addition? I am aware of the additional drag
penalty . . . if is was in a hurry I would not have gotten a displacement
boat . . .

For what its worth,I Saw a 155 ft alum. crew boat, 4 engines, being
launched last week and it ( and its 3 sister ships) have bilge keels.
