The attached you-tube video made by me shows the damage that can occur when
one runs aground hard and tries to get off by yourself using copious
amounts of power
This Pershing was on its way to France (had just been dropped off by a
freighter from the Russian Black Sea Coast, when just less than 1 nm from
the marina, it skirted a navigational buoy on the wrong side.
While I can probably say with some certainty that there is no one on this
list that owns or Captains a Pershing, it still can offer lessons we as
boat drivers can always learn from.
Or at least chuckle under our breath as to the "wisdom" some professional
Captains exhibit.

Merry Christmas Lee,
When I try to view the video it shows that it is private and can not be
viewed?
Not important. I have seen a lot of additional damage done by owners who
try to grind the boat off when grounded. Even in a soft grounding the
engine ingests silt/sand which can scar shaft seal faces, pump housings,
clog coolers, etc.. I guess they are just mad, frustrated and are acting
out. Sadly, most have towing insurance and are retired but in a hurry.
It's always best to have the tow respond to unground you. After all one
pays for the service. Always carefully watch temps and hit critical places
with your lazer thermometer.
Merry Christmas to All and may your soft groundings only clean your bottom,
