Jonas, Deive:
I think your way to late to find something in Marathon or Key West for a reservation
We spent the last two winters in Marathon but made a early reservation the
first year and left our deposit and confirmed out reservation before we left
for the second year. That was at the Marathon Marina & Boat Yard. They
will probably put you on a waiting list.  Lots of MTOA members go to Boatman's Sombreo
Resort & Marina (in recivership again) and Dockside or Sombreo Dockside (different owners)
But in my humble opinion neither compares to Cocoa Village Marina, the Village, or everyting at your fingers on Merritt Island. It is just further south.

This year we are at the Cocoa Village Marina in Cocoa, Fl. If you visit
the MTOA Marina List there is a video link to Cocoa Village Marina, or
use this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRTiWbsgO9U&feature=related
We spent 4 months here before going to Marathon in 2011.

We spent the summer here while wife recuperated from some bicycle injuries
and will be spending the winter of 2012 here as well.

Key west Yacht club went into receivership last year or year before and the bank dropped rates
and some folks scrambled down there from Marathon to Key West. However I picked up
a rate sheet for the two Marinas in Key west and it would have cost us $3,500 per month with all
the fees for our 50 ft boat.

Cocoa Village Marina has all the amenities you could ask for. No swimming pool, but super
public transportation gets you to all the big box stores, malls, move theaters and the Beach
in 15 Minutes. The marina has great facilities, monthly parties in the beautiful club house. Plenty of
nice shower facilities and laundry facilities open 24/7  They are a first choice Marina with Active Captain and matter of Fact Jeff and Karen Seigel (Active Captain )will be here early December.

We have nice dock neighbors, The "Cocoa Village" is one block away with lots of shops and restuarants, great place to ride the bike. Wife Helen goes to the Curves Exercise place six days a week. Nice library.  We will be here until March 31st there abouts. Rates
are reasonable here. We can live with any weather Cocoa has to offer over the winter.

Cocoa Village Marina contributed free nights dockage certificates for door prizes at the Northern 2012
rendezvous.

I have no financial interest n Cocoa Villge Marina but happy to support this MTOA Marina Partner
