Annual Meeting / Call For Participation

Please mark your calendar for Thursday, November 8th, when Vuecrest will
hold its annual meeting.  Progress over this past year will be reviewed, and
Members in Good Standing will vote on a budget for the coming year.  We also
elect two Directors to the board.  Anyone who is interested in serving on
the board, please contact any of the board members.  If elected, service is
for a three-year term.

The board is also seeking volunteers to serve as Secretary and as Treasurer
for the Association, as well as to help on some committees. These appointed
roles are done on a yearly  basis.  If you are interested and have some
relevant background, please contact any of the board members.  Thank you.

Natural Yard Care is Taking root in Bellevue

The City of Bellevue recently updated its online resources to help residents
grow great yards and gardens. The collection includes webpages, downloadable
PDFs, how-to videos and information about free natural yard care classes.
The webpages can be accessed by clicking this button:

Natural yard care is a five-step method to create a beautiful landscape
that's easier to care for and healthier for families, pets and Bellevue's
beautiful environment. Each step is achieved by working smarter - not harder

  • with nature.

The benefits of natural yard care include beautiful yards with easy
maintenance, less cost, and reduced water needs; healthy outdoor refuges for
pets; and decreases in waste, chemicals, and stormwater runoff.

Southwest Monument Completion

After four years of planning and multiple construction delays, the monument
wall identifying the SW corner of the Vuecrest plat is finally complete.
This project qualified for a $5,000 matching grant award from the City of
Bellevue with the generosity of Meredith Watts who donated her land to meet
the City's requirement for the award.  Many thanks to the Watts and
Ranzenbach families for their support of this special project.

City Activity in the Neighborhood

The folks at the City of Bellevue work hard to support us.  Here are a few
of the things your city has done for us in the past couple months:

  • Repair of electrical issues causing west side streetlights to go

dark (twice)

  • Emergency sewer repair for an issue affecting a home on Sunset

Way

  • Replacement of an accident-damaged streetlight

  • Investigation of a fire alarm at a house under construction

  • Permitting for Right-of-Way use for our annual picnic

A big thanks to the hard-working people at the city for their assistance.
Your patience and support during these activities is sincerely appreciated.
