On July 26th CHB is hosting its first annual Kayak Clean Up Day from 9:30 to 2:00. Volunteers are needed for both on the water and land side trash pick up of the Commencement Bay shore line. Jeff Barney, CHB's Bay Patrol Director, will be leading a group of kayakers up the bay paralleling Marine View Dr. to collect trash from the water/shoreline. You must be an experienced kayaker to join him. Jeaine Riss, CHB's Restoratoin Manager, will lead volunteers on a land side trash pick up. Both groups will meet at Yowkwala Beach restoration site next to Tyee Marina for a picnic and finish by cleaning up Yowkwala Beach.
