Vuecrest Safety Discussions
We were all invited and hopefully attended one of the three virtually round table discussions held on April 18th, 19th, and 20th that were scheduled to consider and talk through some possible new safety measures that would garner support from both our community and the City of Bellevue. It was a timely discussion considering that as a neighborhood we have recently experienced vagrant visitation, car theft, catalytic converter theft, car prowls, and package theft. Even though we are a watchful, connected neighborhood, we are not immune to some of the challenges that plague all downtown communities. Below are just a few of the main topics that were discussed as possible options to safeguard our community in the future:
Closing off the 100th Street entrance
Hiring a full time security presence at the Park Road entrance
Gating Vuecrest entrances
Please attend the upcoming Vuecrest monthly meetings to get more information and express your good ideas and opinions.
Upcoming Vuecrest Picnic
Every summer Vuecrest hosts a community “share-some-time-with-your-neighbors” picnic. It usually takes place in August before school starts and is held right on the Park Road esplanade at the 8th Street entrance. It’s always a well-attended event, with dinner al fresco, music, games, and fun summer treats all gratis from your friendly Vuecrest HOA. I’ve never heard anyone say that they didn’t have a good time. The day of the event brings in plenty of helping hands, but if you’re good at putting the pieces together we could use your help. Please email directors@vuecrest.net mailto:directors@vuecrest.net if you’d like to be of assistance.Thanks.
In the WORKS
Watch for it...as part of the HOA ongoing care of our community, the Vuecrest signs will be repainted in the near future. They are presently collecting bids for the job.
Little Bits of Glory
My walk-abouts around our neighborhood are always joyful, but this time of year is especially wonder-filled. Try to spot these beauties when you’re out and about. Maybe you can find a picture of your own yard! Just FYI, these front yard shots were all taken from a distance using zoom, I entered no one’s private property. Thanks for sharing your style!

CALENDAR ITEMS:
Vuecrest Book Club (Meeting IN PERSON)
Vuecrest has its own Book Club and all residents are welcome to attend. We meet once a month at 7PM, usually on the first Monday, at various members’ homes. The VC Book Club has an “open-read” format, that is, there is no “chosen” book. We all gather to discuss what we had read since our last meeting. And for those too busy to read, feel free to come and enjoy the friendship and share a little wine and conversation with your neighbors. And you just might hear about a book you’d like to read in the future! Email Mara Pitkethly dtpit@uw.edu mailto:dtpit@uw.edu for details.
Monthly Board Meeting (Remote) Tuesday, May 4th at 6:00P
This month’s board meeting will be held remotely. To join the meeting use the link or dial-in information below. Everyone is welcome to join. Please let the Directors know at least three days in advance if you will be bringing any items for discussion so they may be included in the agenda.
