Yes. But there is also a link to entering your municipality to come up with a value.

I’m not finding any calculations for municipalities on any of the Purdue Pharma related websites?

Thanks for your help.

It’s fairly easy. There are calculations already done for most municipalities. Go to the website and fill one out. Not as daunting as you’d think.

Tony Puckett with McAfee-Taft firm in okc is handling opioid cases for several metro cities and is up to speed on current situation.  Perhaps he would be willing to discuss with you.

Hello All:

I'm trying to get more informed about this Purdue Pharma bankruptcy myself.  I'm wondering how would the State of Oklahoma's settlement with Purdue affect any claims that an Oklahoma municipality might have?

Best wishes,
Joel

Ken,

In Tulsa, we have retained outside counsel to file our bankruptcy claim in the Purdue Pharma case no. 19-23649 (RDD) (Bankr. S.D.N.Y.) in the Southern District of New York.  However, I participate in the IMLA Opioid Litigation Working Group and below is a summary of the working group conference call yesterday afternoon on this subject:

Purdue Bankruptcy: More on the Consolidated Claim and the Municipal Claim Model-CONSOLIDATED CLAIM FILINGS DUE BY TOMORROW, JULY 15, 2020- As referenced in my note of July 2, 2020, an entity was retained by the ad hoc committee of governmental and other contingent litigation claimants (Ad Hoc Committee) to create a “Municipality Claim Model” that provides estimated damages and abatement costs for many jurisdictions. My note included a link to the Municipal Claim Model and Consolidated Claim  information: https://purduelocalgovtclaims.info

That link includes a “Claim Estimates” section, which indicates many jurisdictions’ estimated Purdue claim amount, and a “Documents” section, which includes five attachments:

  1. Letter from Plaintiffs Executive Committee: The PEC recommends that local governments file individual claims (due by July 30, 2020) using the standard claim form https://purduepharmaclaims.com/files/PurdueGovernmentalOpioidClaimantProofofClaimForm.pdf states that they can use the Municipal Claim Model as the basis for their filing; if for some reason they do not want to file individually, the local government can join the Consolidated Claim.

  1. Letter from Brown Rudnick LLP, co-counsel to the Ad-Hoc Committee of Governmental and Other Contingent Claimants: Brown Rudnick also recommends filing an individual claim, but offers, as an alternative, a Consolidated Claim. As indicated, interested parties must file their Consent Form with Brown Rudnick by tomorrow, July 15, 2020. This includes their claim amount, as further indicated in the Consent Form, included as Exhibit B to the Brown Rudnick letter. https://purduelocalgovtclaims.info/assets/Letter%20from%20Brown%20Rudnick%20LLP%20re%20Consolidated%20Claim.pdf

Does anyone have experience with claim forms for the Purdue settlement and bankruptcy or know someone who might assist me with this effort on behalf of a small city.  I am looking at the claim forms now and would like to have some help on the matter.
